I am mostly self-taught, and I have been creating art of one sort or another since 1968. As an artist, I am always changing, hopefully growing and evolving. I paint my experiences, my history, my thoughts and my emotions. I love to experiment with media, styles and subject matter. You'll see in my current work the laughing faces of grandchildren, and strangers in the marketplace, and neighbors. And you also see my interpretations of the American West, the land and the animals that live there. Sometimes I wander down some unfamiliar path in media, style or subject matter. I am always looking for the soft spaces in peoples’ hearts and minds.
My life has been filled with smiling faces, open vistas, long horizons, challenges, support and encouragement. I feel compelled to give back, and I believe I can best do that as an artist. I hope to inspire, remind, encourage and comfort those who share my journey.
I have participated in many outdoor art festivals, including Sweet Pea Festival of the Arts in Bozeman, MT, Art and Antique Show in Teton Village, WY, Art in the Park in Boulder City, NV, and San Diego Festival of the Arts in San Diego, CA, among others. I have participated in the annual Eccles Art Auction, Art Access 300 plates fundraiser, and Urban Arts Gallery. I have been represented in Patrick Moore Gallery in Salt Lake City and the Off the Wall Gallery in Moab, and I currently show with Utah Art Markets 6 shows. I have many works in private collections from border to border and coast to coast. I have recently launched a website (mwarrenstudio.com) from which I offer both originals and prints.
